Gopal Lama is the founder of Yangrima School in Sermathang, Helambu, Sindhupalchowk. He led the development of Yangrima as one of the best high schools in the district. Unfortunately, Yangrima School was shut down by the Maoist during the civil war and Gopal moved to the United Kingdom in 2000. After completing Masters in Business Administration from the University of Bradford, Gopal served as a Regional Manager in Yorkshire and then joined the NHS (National Health Service) Scotland where he served as a Manager until his return to Nepal in 2014.
After his return Gopal led the reconstruction of Yangrima School building, a model eco-lodge using hempcrete and is currently serving as the Director of Just Nepal Foundation. Gopal is also the founding secretary of Just Nepal Foundation.
Gopal enjoys traditional music, walking in the mountains and reading.
