ABOUT US

Our Story

Just Nepal Foundation (JNF) was established in 2015 to enhance the quality of rural life in Nepal. As a non governmental organization, we are committed to making a positive impact by working with local people and communities. We are registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu and are affiliated with the Social Welfare Council of Nepal. We also hold ISO 9001:2015 certification from 2021.

At JNF, our mission is to foster a sustainable future through inclusive development practices. We believe that merely providing aid will not foster a healthy environment for sustainable growth. Therefore, our approach involves identifying and addressing the root cause of the problems and equipping local people and duty bearers with the right tools and resources so that local people and communities work towards the change they want to see in their lives and in their communities. Our primary areas of focus include promoting inclusive quality education, empowering youth, and developing community resilience against the impacts of climate change. Social justice, equitable access to opportunities and locally led approaches are our guiding principles.

Vision

We envision a future where all people in remote parts of Nepal are empowered and have an improved quality of life with access to better education, health, and sustainable income opportunities.

Mission

Our mission is to improve the quality of life in 65 remote settlements in Nepal by 2030 by increasing access to quality inclusive education, better health and sustainable low carbon economic growth.
We pursue our mission through an integrated and holistic commitment to:

  • Transformational development that is community-based, participatory and sustainable; focused on the needs of children and youth, women and elderly.
  • Provide emergency relief and reduce the risk of disasters with a focus on helping people affected by conflict as well as natural hazards.
  • Promotion of justice that seeks to change unjust structures affecting the poor, women, Dalit, and indigenous communities among whom we work and foster equitable access in education, health and income opportunities.
  • Partnership with I/NGOs, government, and private sector agencies for the equitable economic, social and environmental transformation of communities. We will pursue the goal of carbon reduction and opportunities provided by a low carbon economy in all of our activities.
  • Civic awareness that leads to informed understanding and solidarity, active participation and community action from all sections of society.
  • Improve protection for children and adolescents from all forms of violence, abuse and exploitation
