Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education

Quality education is a cornerstone in the fight against poverty and inequality. It plays a key role in the development of social and economic justice, gender equality and sound democracies. Inclusive and equitable quality education i.e. the right of all children to receive educational services within their local community with reference to their local cultural context is specified in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Inequitable access and poor quality learning combined with a weak public education system and rapidly growing privatization of education are some of the main obstacles to reaching SDG (4.1)

We believe that a Total School Approach (TSA) which mobilizes and capacity strengthens the local community, school and local governors to collectively confront these obstacles can address these obstacles effectively. JNF has developed a pilot project in partnership with CICED, who specialises in education, to test out this model across all the schools in Helambu. If successful this model can be replicated in other municipalities.

We are currently seeking funding for this pilot project. For further information please contact
